Emirates airline makes loud arrival
The Zambian skies had welcomed the new aviation player that is Emirates airlines, the last week there was the dinner gala on the occasion of the deal in the new governments complex and as putting the expectation from the Dubai headquarters. The grandiose front part of the building was decorated with the perfectly beige and maroon dressed air-hostesses, whose happy faces welcomed a cross-section of society invited to this great day for Zambian tourism and holidays and it will surely contribute to increase flights to dubai in coming time.In the lobby, hostesses welcomed delegates and ushered them to the first floor, not before offering them towels to neat up their faces in readiness for the entertainment that was to follow. A quick tear off the invitation cards indicated there was going to be a raffle.
On the first floor, the B-Sharp led by Sir Jones Kabanga played some jazz music as delegates, including Information and Labour Minister Fackson Shamenda, and Commerce Minister Bob Sichinga chatted away.Inside the main auditorium were dining tables decorated with everything ‘Emirates’ and a stage that looked like serious music was to be played. On the food menu was some beef and potatoes, cabin crew style, and on the music menu was going to be the amazing Jane Osborn, J.K, and the girl many may not have heard of Caitlin Papier.
Caitlin is a pride of Zambia as far as music is concerned. The scarlet dressed 19-year-old dazzled guests with her masterly of the electric violin, playing hits like Africa (Toto) and Waka Waka (Shakira) with nonchalance. What’s more, her strutting off the stage after performing was gazelle-like.She even backed Jane Osborn on Tiyende Pamodzi, just showing how versatile she could be. Jane Osborn, herself, showed she has not aged a day, with her energetic traditional dancing, and some girlie self-compositions, that charmed delegates. Young dancers, performing salsa, and traditional dancers could also not be left out on this occasion.
The raffle finally was announced by master of ceremony, Kamiza Chikula, and the winner was the European ambassador to Zambia Giles Hervio, who will fly on the Emirates Airline with his wife, of course in the business class.Emirates Airlines will be landing and leaving Zambia on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from Dubai, Airline divisional senior vice-president for revenue optimization and distribution, Nabil Sultan assured.
